About the Patient Service Specialist role:​
-
Answer phones and direct them to the appropriate doctors or staff members. Schedule and/or cancel appointments.

Prep charts for the following days by compiling appropriate forms in charts, confirming patient appointments, and verifying insurance benefits.

Greet patients to check in and out. Review paperwork with patients and take copies of insurance cards. Enter demographic and insurance information in software.

Collect co-pays, co-insurances, contact lens fitting fees, and any other payments due at the time of service. Post charges and payments in system.

Bill exams and office visits to insurance.

File charts and other paperwork as needed.

Responsible for keeping waiting area and patient areas neat and tidy. Empty trash, vacuum, and wipe down surfaces to ensure a clean office.

Other duties including ordering contacts.

Travel to other offices as needed

Perform other duties as assigned.
