Patient Scheduling Specialist

Report to: 

Regional Operations Leader

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing patient care and outstanding customer service. Duties included but not limited to answering phones, verifying insurance, data entry, and ordering contact lenses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones and schedule appointments. Collect and verify patient demographic information. Schedule and cancel appointments.

  • Triage patient phone calls and schedule appropriately

  • Transfer phone calls to appropriate destination

  • Confirm patient appointments and verify insurance benefits

  • Process and place contact lens orders in practice management system and with appropriate vendor. Collect payments.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, multi-task and proceed with objectives without supervision.

  • Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.

  • Interpret optical prescriptions

  • Basic bookkeeping skills

  • Detail-oriented

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Type:

Full-time

Pay:

$14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Call Center: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Healthcare: 1 year (Preferred)
