Optometric Technician-Chaska
About the Optometric Technician role:

Assist doctors during clinic times by taking patient health histories, visual acuities, and perform pretests requested by the doctors. Prep exam rooms for clinic and close down rooms after clinic.

Assist doctors during office visits by charting notes in software system.

Contact lens responsibilities including patient contact lens orders, verifying contact lens orders, ordering contact lens trials, and I & R classes.

Responsible for ordering medical supplies, eye drops used during patient visits, and sample prescription drops.

Perform front desk duties to help as needed. This includes answering phones, scheduling appointments, and dispensing contact lenses.

Perform optical duties to help as needed including but not limited to frame selections, glasses adjustments, dispensing glasses, dispensing contacts, repairing glasses, notifying patients when product is available.

Other duties include scanning paperwork for patient charts, triaging patients, coordinating medication refills with pharmacy.

Occasionally support other SWEC clinics as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

You meet these requirements:

Three years related optical experience or customer service experience
-
ABO, NCLE, or COA certification recommended but not required
