Job Summary:

Responsible for providing patient care and outstanding customer service. Performs duties included but not limited to front desk, optical, contact lenses, assisting doctors, and accounts receivable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Optical duties as assigned including but not limited to frame selections, contact lens ordering, ophthalmic lens ordering, frame ordering, glasses adjustments, dispensing glasses, dispensing contacts, repairing glasses, verifying contact orders, verifying glasses and frame orders, notifying patients when product is available, and I&R classes.

  • Meet with frame vendors to maintain frame inventory and ensure product is being rotated out. Reorder frames on a weekly basis to replenish product sold. Conduct frame inventory on quarterly basis.

  •  Work with Optical Service Supervisor to develop and maintain frame board management plan.

  • Administer minor accounts receivable functions including billing for product and services, entering payments from patients, reconciling daily monies received.

  • Administer minor accounts payable duties including but not limited to reconciling monthly statements with invoices, tracking of pending credits, verifying frame orders received match frame rep written order.

  • Back up patient service specialist/front desk duties included but not limited to answering phones, greeting patients, checking in patients, prepping charts, filing, verifying insurance, and scheduling appointments.

  • Travel to other offices required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Credentials and Experience (established by supervisor):


  • Three years related optical experience or customer service experience

  • ABO and NCLE certification essential but not required

  • CPO Certification within 6 months of hire
