Professional Bio
Dr. Kasie Mix received her Bachelor degree in Biology from St. Catherine University. From there she went on to attend Pacific University College of Optometry and there earned her Doctor of Optometry degree, as well as her Masters in Vision Science.
Dr. Mix joined Southwest Eye Care in 2020 and strives to leave no question unanswered when it comes to patient care and education. Dr. Mix finds that working at a practice with so many doctors gives everyone a chance to collaborate, enhancing patient care.
With extensive training in various areas including contacts, oculoplastic and refractive surgery, and advanced ocular care, Dr. Mix is sure to provide you with an informed and thorough visit. Her multidisciplinary education and problem solving personality has provided her with the tools to ensure patients receive high level eye care, in a comfortable setting.

Why I'm an Optometrist
During my junior year of high school, my Anatomy and Physiology class held a career day, where a visiting Optometrist shared why he loved being an eye doctor. He had so much joy, kindness and passion when he spoke about his career; which instantly drew me in. I shadowed a few different Optometrists, and instantly knew this is what I wanted to do with my life. Having the ability to work alongside other respected colleagues in a group setting has been a long term dream of mine.
Forming relationships is my absolute favorite part of being an Optometrist. I strive to always be a friend as well as an Eye Doctor. Getting to know my patients on a personal level and sharing in the joys of their lives year after year is so rewarding.
