Senior Optometric Technician-Chaska

About the Senior Optometric Technician role:

  • Lead optometric technicians by coordinating training, maintaining and delegating projects, coaching and guiding employees, writing and delivering employee evaluations.

  • Compose a monthly optometric technician schedule while being efficient for staffing costs.

  • Facilitate overall efficiency and flow of optometry clinical functions by ensuring patient satisfaction.

  • Address escalated patient concerns.

  • Assist optometrists during clinic times by collecting patient health histories, visual acuities, and perform pre tests requested by the doctors.

  • Prep exam rooms for clinic and close down rooms after clinic.

  • Assist doctors during office visits by charting notes in a software system.

  • Contact lens responsibilities including patient contact lens orders, verifying contact lens orders, ordering contact lens trials, and I & R classes.

  • Responsible for ordering medical supplies, eye drops used during patient visits, and sample prescription drops.

  • Perform front desk duties to help as needed. This includes answering phones, scheduling appointments, and dispensing contact lenses.

  • Perform optical duties to help as needed including but not limited to frame selections, glasses adjustments, dispensing glasses, dispensing contacts, repairing glasses, notifying patients when a product is available.

  • Other duties include scanning paperwork for patient charts, triaging patients, coordinating medication refills with pharmacy.

  • Travel to other offices required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You meet these requirements:

  • Three years related to optometric technician experience

  • CPO certification preferred

  • Managerial experience in a clinic setting preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22 per hour
