What you’ll be doing
Responsible for accounts receivable functions of the organization including billing and coding, aging receivables, insurance verification, posting payments. Provide patient care and outstanding customer service.

A day in your life might include…

  • Work with all areas of the organization to collect any necessary or requested documentation from patients, insurance carriers or other areas regarding accounts receivable.

  • Post and interpret payments from patients and insurance companies. Understand Explanation of Benefits from insurance companies and appropriately transfer charges, post denials, and create invoices for patients.

  • Bill and code services to patients and insurance companies and ensure claims are coded properly by all clinics.

  • Bill and submit all clinic charges for all doctor visits.

  • Verify insurance benefits and request prior authorizations as needed.

  • Answers patient’s questions regarding statements, agency coverage, etc.

  • Completes weekly billing reports.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

What we need from you

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Experience in Medical Billing, Medical Collections, Medical Billing Systems and General Office.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.

  • Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.

  • Understand optometric and ophthalmic procedure and diagnosis codes.

  • Basic bookkeeping skills.

  • Detail-oriented.

Experience:

  • ICD-10: 1 year (Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
