Professional Bio
Dr. Amy Freed received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1992 from the University of South Dakota with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. Dr. Freed also received her Bachelor of Science in Visual Science in 1994 while at Illinois College of Optometry. In 1997 she graduated with honors from the Illinois College of Optometry and earned her Doctor of Optometry.
Dr. Freed started practicing in Madison, Wisconsin then moved to Minnesota in 1998, where she continues to practice. In 2005 Dr. Freed opened Southwest Eye Care in Chaska with her husband, Dr. Chris Freed, and colleague Dr. Chad Dockter. When you visit with Dr. Freed, you can expect to be well informed, and have all your questions answered.

Why I'm an Optometrist
I chose optometry because it was a great way to be involved in science and healthcare to help people on a daily basis while still being able to have the time I need to devote to my family and hobbies. I love that it helps me lead a balanced life.
