Dr. Chad Dockter attended the University of
Minnesota from 1985-1989 with a major in Biology. He then
attended Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 1989
and graduated in 1993. At Illinois College of Optometry he
completed an externship at Low Vision Resources in
Minneapolis. He and his wife moved back home to the Twin
Cities and have resided in in the Chaska/Carver area along with their two girls
Avery and Shayne. Chad has been heavily involved in the community since moving to Chaska. He served on the City Council for eleven years, chaired the Southwest Metro Transit Board and served on numerous committees. Chad and his wife Kristi both enjoy being involved in their local church. During his free time Chad enjoys golf, skiing and spending time with his family. Specialty areas of optometry include family eye care, refractive surgery, and pediatrics. |

Dr. Amy Freed received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1992 from the University of South Dakota with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. Dr. Freed also received her Bachelor of Science in Visual Science in 1994 while at Illinois College of Optometry. In 1997 she graduated with honors from the Illinois College of Optometry and earned her Doctor of Optometry.Dr. Freed started practicing in Madison, Wisconsin then moved on to Minnesota where she has been practicing for the past 9 years. In 2005 Dr. Freed opened Southwest Eye Care in Chaska with her husband Dr. Chris Freed and colleague Dr. Chad Dockter. She and her family have settled in Chaska. She has 2 young boys, Evan and Easton that keep her busy when she is not at the office. Three of her four siblings are also raising families in the surrounding area. Her specialty areas are contact lens fitting, refractive surgery consultation & follow-up, and diagnosing & treating ocular pathology from "pink-eye" to ocular allergies. Things she enjoys doing in her spare time are hiking up North with her boys & chocolate lab, running, and snow skiing with family. |

Dr. Chris Freed graduated from Michigan State University in 1993 with a major in biology and a minor in ecology. Dr. Freed graduated from Illinois College of Optometry in 1997. Originally practicing in Madison, WI with his wife Amy, Dr Freed moved to Minnesota in 1998. In 2005 Dr. Freed opened Southwest Eye Care in Chaska with his wife Dr. Amy Freed and colleague Dr. Chad Dockter. He and his family have settled in Chaska. He specializes in pediatric care, contact lenses, and refractive surgery consultation and co-management. In his spare time he and his wife love spending time outdoors skiing, running, and biking. |
